Poly acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) has balanced mechanical properties, such as toughness, hardness, rigidity. And it has good dimension stability, surface gloss, low temperature resistance, coloring process. But there is still inadequate, such as weatherability advantages, conductivity, heat resistant. These faults hampered further application of ABS.PBT has high mechanical performance, excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance, low bibulous rate, short molding cycle and good processing performance, etc. But the crystal shrinkage rate is high, size stability is poor, sensitive to the gap. The two shortcomings limit the application of PBT.So blending ABS and PBT, their performance can be integrated, process performance plastic alloy, and broaden the scope of application fields.Because ABS is crystallization resin, PBT is crystalloid resin, ABS/PBT alloy is incompatible system, both direct blending appear easily statified, peeling phenomenon, material performance is poorer, add appropriate compatibilizer can improve both compatibility.This paper firstly identify the proportion of ABS and PBT suitable is 70/30, then determine appropriate compatibilizer KT-5A and quantity by 0.5 %, further studies the different type of ABS influence on the performance of ABS/PBT alloy, on this basis we study ABS/PBT modified varieties, such as different toughening level, flame retardant grade, and enhance level ABS/PBT alloy.
