Polar monomer methyl methacrylate (MMA) was grafted on linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) to synthesize LLDPE-g-PMMA by solution graft polymerizati on method, discussed the reaction time, monomer dosage, initiator dosage of the inf luence for the graft reaction. The experimental result show that with increasing amo unt of initiator and monomer, the polymer grafting degree increases too, when the i nitiator concentration was 4.8%, and the content of monomer was 150%, the graftin g degree will reach 26.1%. The results of FTIR and 13C-NMR confirm that PMMA can be grafted onto LLDPE. And the results of XRD and DSC indicat that graftin g polymerization did not change its crystal type, but the crystallinity reduced from 61.39% to 47.18%. Again will get graft polymer added to PVC/LLDPE blend syste m, got a new kind of ternary blend material LLDPE/LLDPE-g-PMMA/PVC, and by using tensile machine, impact tester is analyzed with mechanics test. Because of L LDPE/PVC blend system added LLDPE-g-PMMA, the impact strength and thus imp roved, rose from 16 J/m to 35 J/m, so that LLDPE - g - PMMA is helpful to imp rove the compatibility of LLDPE/PVC system.This article also USES the same method synthesized LLDPE-g-SAN and make use of the LLDPE-g-SAN as compatibilizers to join the LLDPE/PVC system, By using the melt blending way got the impact strength is relatively good blend (PVC/ LLDPE-g-SAN/LLDPE), mechanical properties by impact machine and tensile instru ment analysis we can know that the impact strength of the blend can reach 105 J/ m, through experimental comparison we can know, if you don’t use the compatibiliz ers LLDPE-g-SAN, the impact strength of PVC/LLDPE blend system can only achi eve 16 J/m.it suggesting that the LLDPE-g-SAN in PVC/LLDPE blend system does have compatibilizing effect.
