Analysis Of Garment Sewing Operation And Research On Work Time

With the expanding scale and varieties of the clothing demand,the clothing industry had developed from long-term large quantities of clothes with few varieties to short-term few quantities of clothes with larger varieties.Right now,clothing companies of China are facing numerous problems in production management.It is a basis for company in management to make production standards and set standard working hours,which is a necessity for scientific management and plays a important role in it.Clothing company S making men’s shirts was taken as an example in the thesis.The workers’ movement process and time were studied through field investigation on the object of production lines and problems,like waste,inefficient and unreasonable movement were found and needed to be studied.Therblig movement analysis method was applied in analyzing the movement factors of the processes in sewing shirts. Along with improving the whole process, the unnecessary movements were removed or adjusted to set production standards of making shirts.Considering the time comparison and time allowance, the standard production time of shirts was calculated by adding up the time of making a man’s shirt.The standard time was verified in order to ensure its accuracy and reliability.And it can be used in accounting the workers’ wages,training and so on, and provides a significant basis for scientific management. However,only if the standard time was truly applied in company management,the competiveness and development of the company could be strengthened.The study focused on the actual circumstances of the company and could be used in assessing the workers’clothing sewing work.It can optimize the production process by revising the irrational movements,deleting the unnecessary movements and reducing the labor instensity,thus improve the labor productivity of making men’s shirts.The study can help standardize the workers’sewing work and set standard working time scientifically and reasonablely.In addition,it can contribute to appraising performances and improving the workers’ enthusiasm.Above all,it is of great significance to improve the company’s economic benefit.It can be applied in companies after further verification and improvement of the study,the ability of adapting to production of short-term few quantities clothes with various styles can be strengthed greatly.
