The Research Of ATLAS Pattern’s Application In Indoor Textile Design

As the society becomes diverse,more attention are paid on the creativity andindividuality of interior textile design. And more and more designers turn to explorethe national traditional culture.ATLAS, which is a symbol of Xinjiang fabric,represents the culture and spirit of Xinjiang. ATLAS has a unique graphical pattern,which is simple but fun, containing profound cultural connotation. Its formation has avery close relationship with the geographical environment and humanity environmentin Xinjiang. This essay makes a preliminary analysis of the innovative application ofthe ATLAS pattern in modern interior textiles, aiming to combine the traditionalATLAS pattern and the modern aesthetic needs. On one hand, it wants to make tomake more people to understand this kind artistic expression; on the other hand itwants to expand range of indoor textile design, introducing more art forms into thedesign.This essay first expounds on the factors that influences the formation anddevelopment of ATLAS pattern, which the natural environment, social environmentand religious belief.Secondly, it analyzes and summarizes ATLAS pattern from colorand category to constitution, preparing for the innovative design. And then throughthe analysis of the present application of ATLAS in Interior Textile Design andexisting problems, combining with the trend of modern indoor textile design, itrepresent some new ideas and methods, which may be used in future Interior TextileDesign. Finally it will use ATLAS pattern in the soft decoration of restaurant, not onlyverifying the realistic feasibility and market value of ATLAS pattern but alsoproviding the new reference in theory and Practice for designing new interior textiles.
