Tension leveler is one of the indispensable equipment in copper strip productioncompanies. Leveling strips on this line can not only help achieve better strip flatness, but alsosignificantly reduce or even remove the residual stress in strips so as to improve the stripmechanical performance. The reliability of tension leveler has a direct influence on theproduction schedule and economic benefits of copper strip production companies. In thispaper I take copper strip tension leveler as the study object and apply fuzzy FMECA analysismethod to analyze the reasons and influence of equipment faults existing in actual operationsuch as motor fault, drive unit stuck, coiling fault, traction failure, etc, and make animportance rank for the failures of the same risk priority number and put forward thecorresponding improvement measures. Fault tree analysis and stochastic Petri nets arecombined to make an analysis for probability of stability and availability. The paper is mainlycomposed of the following parts:(1)Make an overview of paper study background and significance, a description fordomestic and overseas FMECA development status and the features of fault tree analysis, adescription for stochastic Petri nets analysis that is applicable to discrete event dynamicsystem and its application, a summary of the tension leveler availability study status and theexisting inadequacy. And propose the main study content of this paper based on the above.(2)Make a description for the structure and working principle of strip tension levelers.Analyze the faults in coiler, decoiler and leveling rolls and the fault reasons based on ninemonths running and maintenance records.(3)Make FMECA analysis for tension leveler based on the above fault analysis. Fuzzycomprehensive judgment and fault tree analysis are combined, influence extent of variousfactors on failure types is considered, importance rank is made for failure types of the samerisk priority number, so as to provide a basis for the whole line fault check sequence.(4)Make stochastic Petri nets modeling for tension leveler failure mode according tofuzzy FMECA analysis result and the relation between the fault tree and stochastic Petri nets and convert the system failure mode into a corresponding stochastic Petri nets. Work out thetransient probability based on Markov process and get the steady-state probability of tensionleveler under failure mode. Use Stochastic Petri Net model analysis corresponding to OR gateto calculate the availability of tension leveler with different check cycles. Comprehensivelyconsider availability and economic efficiency, determine the reasonable check cycle andprovide the basis for long cycle run of tension leveler.(5)Make a summary for the whole paper and come to a conclusion. And propose somepoints that need further study for copper strip tension leveler.
