The continuous rolling acid-washing line of a factory has a speed increasing transformation.The original tension leveler unit based on the concrete foundation should be moved to the newlydesigned steel platform. The vibration of tension leveler unit has a greater impact on the strip’sproduction quality. So, it is significant to study the dynamic characteristics of the unit. This paperhad made a detailed analysis and study in dynamic characteristics of the whole tension levelerand its steel structure by the use of large-scale finite element analysis software, according to theanalysis results to evaluate the vibration state of the unit after transformation. And the main tasksare listed as following:1. Used3-D modeling software to establish the3-D solid models of the tension leveler andthe steel structure.2. Used finite element analysis software to establish the tension leveler’s finite elementmodel. Then made a modal analysis and harmonic response analysis for the tension leveler unitbased on the concrete foundation, and made comparison between the analysis results and theexperimental results, then modified the model by amendment.3. According to the design of the steel structure, established its finite element model bymodeling tools of the finite element analysis software. Then make a modal analysis for thismodel to obtain its first five natural frequencies and modes.4. Established the whole tension leveler unit and steel structure’s finite element model, andmade modal analysis to obtain its first five natural frequencies and modes; then, according to theloads after transformation, this paper made its harmonic response analysis to obtain thesimulating vibration intensity result of the landmarks when the tension leveler unit was movedon to the steel structure platform; finally, it evaluated the vibration state of the unit and checkedthe design of the steel structure according to the results.
