The paper presents the development of atmospheric and vacuum distillation for feasibility research on deep vacuum distillation applied for upgrading an AC and VC unit in Yansan by computational simulation and the optimum operation variables as well. The upgrading of the Yansan unit has been implemented and results show that the yield of vacuum residue falls while the vacuum gas oil rises after revamp; the fraction ratio of 500℃ is 2.4% and that of 520℃ 3.4%. The sulfur content, density, EBP of blended gas oil boost and the carbon residue, density sulfur content of vacuum residue go up as well, which indicates the worsen quality of the oil products that still meet the requirements of feedstock as high pressure hydrogenation, FCC and delayed coking. The energy consumption increases as well. The cutting point is 570℃ by calculating, which shows the good results of the upgrading.
