With the development, people have more and more high requirements on the acoustic environment of life, work and study. People also have larger demand and higher requiment on sound-absorbing material. The sound-absorbing board made from blast slag cotton is in line with the development of society, but now the sound-absorbing board on sales in China mainly takes the aldehyde glue as binder. This binder is harmful to the body, because it will release formaldehyde material. Therefore, developing the environmental-protecting type sound-absorbing board will be the trend of development.Subject adopts silicon sol, silicon sol and polyvinyl alcohol, methyl 3 armour oxygen radicals silane modified silica sol as the binder preparation of mineral wool acoustic board. Blast furnace slag wool fibers were solid cylindrical, smooth surface, the average diameter of 6.8μm, with the dispersion and better alkali resistance. When the acid resistance is a bit poor, slag ball content in the fiber is low. With half dry process molding, drying time for six hours, drying temperature is 120℃, the concentration of silica sol was 25%, silicon sol and the ratio of polyvinyl alcohol was 2:1. Methyl trimethoxy silane modified silica sol as a water repellent surface resulting board indicators: Bulk density 160.030kg/m3, compressive strength 15.60 KPa, moisture absorption rate of 0.530%, the thermal conductivity 0.0174W/(m·K), noise reduction coefficient of 0.62, for the performance is good acoustic panels of 0.65.It is concluded that different molding methods will form material of different properties through analyzing effects of different index on various performance, and semidry method is superior to the wet-forming process. The sound-absorbing coefficient of the board increases with the increasing of thickness and bulk density, but not a linear relationship. The compression performance thermal conductivity and the drawing property of the board increase with the increasing of concentration of silica sol. The moisture absorption increases with PVA content.
