Using liquid blast furnace slag to reduce slag wool directly not only saves energy consumption,but also can make full use of the mineral resources of blast furnace slag.At present,the main production of slag wool has the blowing method and the centrifugal method.Compared with that of centrifugal method,the device of jetting is simple,the output is large and the energy consumption is small.But now the theoretical study of the spray method is inadequate,so it is very important to study on the study of the blowing into the fiber.By studing blowing method with the device of designed and developed independently,and characterzing the fiber sample with the device of scanning electric microscope,XRD as well as analyzing the diameter of fiber and moisture content,the influence made by the pressure of the gas,the pass of the nozzle and the acidity coefficient on the quality of the fiber is analyzed and concluded.It is found that the composition of blast furnace slag is not in the composition range of slag fiber,therefore when pure blast furnace slag is added as raw material the composition of slag fiber are much more with undesirable tenacity,accordingly the texturizers should be added to the furnace slag for quenching and tempering treatment.Along with the rise of acidity coefficient,the diameter of the fiber increases.When the acidity coefficient is 1.3,the water content appears the valley value,and then the water content increases rapidly.In the range of viscosity,the greater the air flow velocity is,the slender the fiber is.Supposing the acidity coefficient of blast furnace slag is controlled within 1.2~1.3 and the pressure of gas injection around 0.3Mpa,the quality of fiber is better.The equipment of jetting has simple structure,large output and is easy to operate.The diameter of the slag is fine with lower water content and the product is stable,but the content of slag ball is higher.Centrifugal process equipment has complex structure and the cost of operation is high,the fiber,with relatively thicker,can produce longer fiber,and the fiber slag ball content is lower.Nevertheless,the water content is high,and the water content change obviously with the increase of acidity coefficient.
