Waste catalysts contain a large quantity of noble metals. So it is significant to recycle them. We can get best separation efficiency in waste catalysts separating by the inclined pulsed air separating bed. Separation mechanism of the inclined pulsed air separating bed was researched. And kinetic equation of particle moving in active pulsing air has been deduced. With the help of fluent and EDEM numerical simulation software, the pressure and velocity distribution of flow field in inclined pulsed air separating bed were obtained. The motion and separation of the two different kinds of particle groups were obtained. The velocity, displacement and force changing over time of the two different kinds of particles were analyzed. The trajectory and the sorting process of the two different kinds of particles were recorded by using the high-speed dynamic image analysis system. And the velocity and displacement changing over time of the two different kinds of particles in actual experiment were obtained. The influence of pulsing frequency, airflow velocity and obliquity to separation efficiency were studied respectively. The experiment results showed that: when the airflow velocity and obliquity were constant, the separation efficiency increased at first then decreased with the pulsing frequency increased, and the best separation efficiency 99.55% was obtained at the pulsing frequency of 4.5Hz; when the pulsing frequency and obliquity were constant, the separation efficiency increased at first then decreased with the airflow velocity increased, and the best separation efficiency 99.84% was obtained at the airflow velocity of 7.94m/s; when the pulsing frequency and airflow velocity were constant, the separation efficiency increased at first then decreased with the obliquity increased, and the best separation efficiency 99.51% was obtained at the obliquity of 40°. A three factors and three levels experiment on separation experiment by using design-expert software. The results showed that: the best separation efficiency 99.51% was obtained at the pulsing frequency of 4.5Hz, the airflow velocity of 7.94m/s and the obliquity of 40°.The order of influence of single factor to separation efficiency was: airflow velocity> obliquity> pulsing frequency. The expression between separation efficiency and actual factors was obtained. The thesis contains 56 figures, 27 tables and 95 references.
