This project is Shenzhen foundamental research project, whose main content is the research and development of a multi-axis machine tool based on opening NC system. The machine tool is used to carve kinds of patterns on a chain component which is a kind of golden ellipsoid thin-wall bead, such pattern carved can make the component beautiful to wear. This kind of component is an important part of the bracelet and necklace. Most production lines in factories realize this process through manual or semi-automation machine, which require good experience and make the product quality instable. As a result, it is of great significance to make the pattern-carving process automatic.The task of research and development of this machine tool is made up of two parts including the design of mechanical structure and the development of PC based control system. This paper focuses on the second part, which contains the design and realization of the electrical control system platform, servo system based on Delta DMC_NET bus communication and multi-axis motion control card, opening NC system based on regular expression, PC control software based on Windows MFC platform, research of some related interpolation algorithms and NC automatic machining experiments.The design of the electrical control platform contains power supply and leakage protection module, servo driving and communicating module and I/O control module. The electrical control platform based on motion control card and IPC semi-loop control system is manly to supply power and hardware protection to the control system to ensure the normal operation of the hardware system. Secondly,the control software consists of underlying opening NC system program and framework program of HMI control software based on Windows MFC programming.The former is to identify and compile NC file so as to drive the relative servo motors.Concretely, the design of opening NC system contains G code compiling system based on regular expression, motion control program of all the axis and relative interpolation algorithms. The latter is to realize visualized motion control of the machine tool, which includes the main interface of the software, single axis testing interface of all axis, NC machining interface and parameter configuration interface.The design and function realization of all these control interfaces make it possible for operators to control the machine tool more intuitively regardless of the logic and principle of the underlying control program.The research and development of the machine tool involve some technology and theories including electrician technology, mainstream industrial control systembased on motion control card and IPC, principle of semi-loop automatic control, NC machining interpolation algorithms, design of opening NC system, technology of software development based on MFC and C++. Comparing with manual and semi-automatic pattern-carving process, this machine tool can greatly improve the production efficiency, save the cost of human resource and lower the operating technical threshold through high degree automation and numerical control. And the subsequent NC machining experiments prove that this machine tool can meet the requirement of automatic pattern-carving process.
