With the rapid economic development and the improvement of people’s living standards, air conditioning has become an everyday major appliances. And because China’s energy resources are increasingly strained and the consumer diversify their spending levels, air conditioner develops toward efficiency and energy saving direction. Heat exchanger is an important part of air conditioning, and tube-fin heat exchanger is the most common kind of air conditioner heat exchanger. Heat exchangers will directly affect the performance of household air conditioners’ cooling, heating and power consumption. The heat exchanger mainly consists of fins and tubes, the fins and the tubes are connected by the expand-joint forming process. The air conditioner fin is a heat transfer enhancement part, and the quality of the fin and the tube’s expand-joint forming process has an important influence on the performance of the heat exchanger.In this thesis, the expand-joint forming process, the heat transfer process simulation of tube-fin exchanger, the fin stamping process and the die structure design are studied. The specific studies are as follows:(1)The finite element models of the expand-joint forming process are established, and the expand-joint forming process is studied by using the finite element method. The influence of the groove structures in different locations on the fin warpage is analysed by setting groove structures on the fin. Several groups of experiments with the orthogonal experimental design are made to discuss the effect of the parameters of the expand-joint forming process by using the finite element method. The results showed that the groove structure can reduce the degree of the fin warpage in the expand-joint forming process to some extent; The factors influence the fin warpage in descending order are the long axis length of the bulging ball, the minor axis length of the bulging ball, the long axis length of the fin hole, the minor axis length of the fin hole; a set of optimized parameters is gotten. A trial-produce to the heat exchanger is arranged to approve that the optimized parameters is reasonable.(2)The heat transfer of the heat exchanger is analyzed. The finite element model of the heat exchanger is established to analyze the heat transfer process by UG, ICEM and FLUENT. The temperature distribution of the heat exchanger of different fins which are the original fins or optimized fins, is analyzed. The heat transfer efficiency is calculate. The results show that the heat transfer effect of original.(3)Analyzing the structure and the stamping process of the fin, the 20-station progressive stamping procedure plan are determined. Considering the material utilization and the actual punching condition, the 12 columns and 2 steps stamping way are determined. The layout of the progressive stamping of fin is designed, and the pressure center is determined finally.(4)The overall structure of the die is determined according to the fin stamping procedure. In accordance with the die’s installation, adjustment and maintenance, the die is divided into 6 part according to the function of each station. And then a trial-produce to the fin is made to approve that the fin stamping procedure and the multi-progressive stamping die used for the fin are reasonable.
