With the industry of Home Appliance air-condition rapid grow in domestic market from century of21th, manufacturing and sales volume increased significantly along with competition among enterprises. In order to occupy the rate of market, many enterprises of air-condition adopted the price strategy, which leaded less and less profit. The panels are most assembly part and possess much rate in Home Appliance air-condition. Along with the rigid material(sheet metal) and transport cost increasing, how to reduce the thickness of air-conditioned panel to increase the profit, which has become the big problem to be resolved in domestic enterprises.In order to reduce the thickness of air-conditioned panel and satisfy the stiffness and intensity demand as well as the same load, inner structure of panel is commonly needed to be optimized. Optimum design is an emerging discipline, which has been developed from1960s and widely used in structure design. It can improve the design quality and speed up the design process and shorten the design cycle. Optimization design can most reasonably utilize the material property, which harmonize the inner cell of structure and have the criterion safety.Taking a panel part of air-conditioner for example, in order to reduce the thickness and satisfy the using need of the air-conditioned panel, the inner structure of air-conditioned panel was optimized. The parameterized3D model for air-conditioned panel was built in Pro/E, and taking Pro/M as analytical platform, the air-conditioned panel analysis of the structure and sensitivity analysis for the optimum design has been processed, to choose the most design parameters. The finite element model, which is synchronized with Pro/E based in two-way parametric transmission tool built in ANSYS Workbench, is established. The optimum model of the air-conditioned panel, in which the critical geometric size of panel are taken as design variables and the maximum strain of the panel of the total mass are taken as objective functions. By optimizing the object, some feasible optimum schemes of the panel were obtained.The panel part of air conditioner, which has multi-process and complex surfaces, is a typical stamping part. It not only demand that the piece be flat and smooth, no defect of crack, warp and wrinkle; but also ensure a tight mate of the panel part and the other air condition body. Using the advanced stamping software DYNAFORM, the air-conditioned panel form process was simulated and problems or shortcomings were predicted. The processing plan for the stamping process and die design were optimized and provided theory basis. Indicating from the simulation result, stamping forming reasonable choice of parameters can maximize the potential of a material deformation and reduce sheet metal forming quality issues.
