Public survive under the social environment of science and technology. The influences of science and technology on people’s quality of life are increasing. Public understanding of science and technology has become more and more important, but also become more and more difficult. Genetically Modified Organisms(GMO) and Genetically Modified(GM) food are science dedicated to, as well as upon the public new things. Some people are promoting genetically modified technology, while others worry about the problem. As influential people, Cui Yongyuan and Fang Zhouzi are fiercely debating on the Internet about the safety of Genetically Modified food,which attracts a lot of attention, deeply touched series of complex issues of Science Communication. This case study of Science Communication will not only help to understand a new mode and new characteristics of Science Communication in the Internet age, but also study the behavior of each participant in the process of communication from the perspective of Communication, to better improve the theory of Science Communication, realize the communication effect accurately and effectively, have great significance.The aim of this dissertation is that to make a general description of the debate between Cui and Fang, and the controversy of the sequence of events of Genetically Modified and the meaning of Science Communication, combined three models of Science Communication, and discuss the three stages of events of Science Communication. The first dissertation is the review of Genetically Modified food safety debate before the dispute of Cui and Fang, and to focus on analyzing controversy, characteristics, influence factors. Then will be described the five main disseminator of Science Communication on food safety issues, combined with the Science Communication model and the Communication principle, analysis of scientists, the media, government, enterprises and consumers in the role of Science Communication, and analysis of what they take from the process of marketization of Genetically Modified food the risks and benefits, emphatically expounds the spreading effect on the audience. Finally, analyze the existing communication effect of communication model.Science Communication is a new thing. In China’s development is still in the exploratory stage, there have been some problems. In our country, Science Communication channel is not unobstructed, imperfect transmission management, imperfect system, under the condition of low trust authority, and reporters, scientific rumors will affect the accuracy of Genetically Modified food safety information transmission. This paper on the basis of the analysis and research, make constructive suggestions on the reflection of Science Communication mode: in the face of uncertain object, scientists and scientific community should make responsible voices, media should be a good microphone of science, the public should be the participants of Science Communication. Both scientists and the media and opinion leaders were not able to replace the public judgment, could not deprive of judgment and independent choice of the public.
