As one key technology among the main components in the injection mold, cooling system plays a important role in controlling and adjusting mold temperature. Compared with traditional straight-drilled cooling channels, conformal cooling channels can more evenly and quickly take away most of the heat which is released by molten plastic. Uniform cooling can effectively reduce warpage and residual stresses which ware caused by uneven shrinkage, while achieving the purpose of shortening the molding cycle. But the design theory and optimization methods of the conformal cooling channels has not been perfect in the field of design optimization, the designers are still based on the traditional single-objective optimization design. To reduce mold cooling efficiency and be unable to reach the final design optimization in the single-objective optimization design, which has become an important factor for limiting the development of conformal cooling technology.First of all, an overview of the relevant knowledge of conformal cooling technology is made in this thesis. The theoretical study of conformal cooling channels, optimization and manufacturing process of the status quo at home and abroad ware discussed in this thesis. The research background and focus of the research ware presented.Next, The design of the space size, types of conformal cooling form, medium pressure drop and fatigue life ware studied。Meanwhile, in order to further improve the accuracy of verification, the method of combining Moldflow 2014 with ANSYS Workbench 15.0 ware adopted in the fatigue life of mold with conformal cooling channels.Then, response surface methodology and multi-objective genetic algorithm NSGA-Ⅱware used to optimize design parameters for conformal cooling channels and improve the cooling efficiency and temperature distribution uniformity. The validity of optimization was verified by Moldflow 2014 software.Finally, the injection mold with conformal cooling channels were manufactured by buried technique and the mold temperature was monitored on a real-time basis by using a self-developed mold temperature measuring device in the injection mold with CCC, in order to verify the accuracy of simulation. The test show the measured results agreed well with that of simulation. Warpage was measured by CMM when mold temperature stability. Compared with Simulation, the trends agreed well with that of simulation. so injection mold with conformal cooling channels ware proved to be effective for improving warpage.
