The rotary kiln is an important production equipment in some industries areas such as the cement, building materials and metallurgy. Its technical performance and operation situation determine the enterprise product’s quality and cost to a great extent. As the rotary kiln tilt installed in the roller device and the roller suffered from the full weight of cylinder, the cylinder and roller can produce the axial force because of its own gravity.Meanwhile, between the tyre and roller with friction also make roller along the axial force in the process of rotary kiln operation. When the roller axial force is larger, it can cause the phenomenon like the roller spherical tile fever, the roller shaft relative sliding and cylinder jumped up and down. Every parts of the roller damaged differently and caused the uneven wear, even the production accident. It brings huge economic loss for the enterprise. Therefore, measuring roller force can help the staff judge the current work state of the roller. It can effectively avoid the problem of the roller kiln frequently stops and has an important practical significance for maintain enterprise production cost.At present, there is no one instrument for measuring roller force can used widely. It is necessary to made a roller force measuring device, which need easy to use and measuring precision, is suitable for the actual field. Through the investigation and analysis in cement rotary kiln production field, based on the theory of rotary kiln roller bearing causes, designed a special measuring roller force sensor. The development of the sensor solved two difficult technical problems. One is low sensitivity output that the bearing base deformation smaller under the action of roller force. Another is that the sensor has different temperature on both sides that cause false output by high temperature radiation of the cylinder. It has reached the expected high resolution requirements and put forward the measurement of the whole bridge double temperature compensation technique for the force sensors affected by high temperature radiation, and also solved the impact of coupling of roller bearing and realized the force independent measurement.Based on the design of force sensors, realized the scene installation of the sensors,calibration and on-line monitoring. It provides an important reference for machine maintenance and meet the demand of practical production. The measuring result is reliable and has certain promotion value.
