As an important energy productive base in north China, air pollution of Taiyuan of Shanxi Province was very serious for a long time. In this thesis, air pollution monitoring data from Taiyuan environmental protection bureau and meteorological data from Taiyuan meteorological offices were collected. Ten years’changes about main pollutant concentrations which combined the development of social economy and natural environment conditions, using Daniel test for trend, the correlation analysis, source apportionment of airborne particulate matter and so on, were comprehensive studied and analyzed.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1) During the period of "11th five-year plan", the five-year average air comprehensive pollution index was 2.65, primary pollutant was SO2. At the end of the period of "11th five-year plan", in comparison with the end of "10th five-year plan" the comprehensive air pollution index had fallen by 22.26%, at the same time, the share rate of PM10 declined. From the point of the API index, level 2 or better days had been gradually growing.(2) During the period of "11th five-year plan", five years’annual average concentrations of NO2 were stably meeting the standard, while PM10 and SO2’s five-year average were over standard 0.11 times and 0.11 times respectively. All of three main atmospheric pollutants concentrations in heating period were higher than in non-heating period. In heating period, PM10 was primary pollutant, while in non-heating period was SO2. Ten years of Taiyuan three main atmospheric pollutants rolling analysis indicate that three of them were significant declined. On the monthly pollutant concentrate change law, three main pollutants presented a U-shaped curve.(3) Contrasted different monitoring stations’ five-year averages during the period of "11th five-year plan" of Taiyuan, the air pollutant PM10 density of Jianhe and Jinsheng points averages were higher; The SO2 density of Wucheng, Jiancaoping and Taoyuan station were higher; The NO2 density in Wucheng, Jianhe and Jiancaoping were higher. Each measuring point different years annual average concentration change trends shows, Xinghualing and Jinyuan area’s air environmental hadn’t improved better. Referred to standards of each environment functional areas, Jinyuan of first area and Jiancaoping, Taoyuan, Wucheng of second area hadn’t met the standard yet.(4) Environmental Kuznets Curve of Taiyuan shows that recently environmental measures of Taiyuan helped making the overall environmental quality improved during the period of "11th five-year plan". Although atmospheric environmental management measures were effective, the root cause of air pollution had not been completely, air pollution prevention and control situation were still grim. Environmental air pollution problem was a background of superimposition of the ecological environment, emergency and potential pollution problems, which affected and constrained by geographical weather, resource type, economic strength, source emission, management level and other factors. Positive correlation between pollutant concentration and industrial emission shows that industrial emission was the main reason causing air pollution. By the end of 2010, the air pollution conditions were still severe.(5) To improve the existing problems in the environmental air quality, corresponding measures were put forward in this thesis. Adjusting the industrial structure and promoting clean production to improve coal-burning characteristics pollution. Advancing central heating and speeding up resolve the urban village problem to improve the heating period pollution. The industrial layout should be reasonable adjusted, supervision and management should be strengthening to improve the regional pollution. High standard planning and efficient implementation of Taiyuan city could improve the air environmental quality. Governing pollution and greening environment at the same time, fully resolving the problem of environmental pollution.
