Considering the development status and the existing problems of domestic and foreign oil-field monitoring systems, and taking account of the existing problems of oil-field monitoring terminal and the actual need of the users, a wireless monitoring terminal of beam pumping unit is designed, which both can draw the indicator diagram of beam pumping unit and measure the electrical parameters of the driving motor. High performance digital signal processor is used as the micro-controller unit(MCU) of the remote terminal unit(RTU) and the newly invented technology of the wireless sensor and wireless data transmission, combining with dedicated energy metering chips, which can realize the real-time measurement of multiple parameters of the pumping unit and the results of the measurement. It can also upload alarm information initiatively while there being a failure alarm, which can help the oilfield workers to control the oil production timely and be conducive to the scientific management of the oil field.1. The device selection and specific hardware and software design of the RTU are introduced in the parts of this paper. It can be divided into the three main parts, the indicator diagram acquisition module, the electrical parameters measuring module and the peripheral serial port equipment module. Firstly, in the part of indicator diagram acquisition module, a kind of wireless load-displacement integration sensor is chosen, which can realize the wireless acquisition of load and displacement information of indicator diagram. The software design process, which can draw the indicator diagram, is described in detail. Secondly, in the part of electrical parameters measuring module, with an unique electrical energy measurement chip---ADE7758 as the core, the peripheral hardware circuit is designed, and the communication between DSP TMS320F2812 and ADE7758 through the SPI interface is explained as a focal point.2. Finally, in the part of peripheral serial port equipment module, it is necessary to extend the universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) interface because the number of the DSP UART port is not enough to support more than two serial peripheral equipments. Thus the method of the UART extension is studied and designed, which has a certain significance for the future expansion. The design of this paper can be widely used to monitor the sucker rod pumping equipments, releasing the worker’s manual labor strength and assuring the accuracy of the measurement. The research will help the management style of oilfield monitoring upgrading from the coarse management style to the fine management style, which has some practical application value and significance.
