The indicator diagram of pumping unit is an important means of judging the working condition of rod-pumped wells, however, the traditional indicator diagram collection method can not timely reflect the indicator diagram of pumping unit, thus leading the staff to make fault diagnosis. Due to the large number, wide distribution, low degree of automation of fault diagnosis, and poor instantaneity of pumping units, conventional methods and equipment for data collection requires a lot of financial and material resources. Therefore,it is extremely urgent to put forward a new measurement. This article puts forward a new method of measuring, a real-time indicator diagram of pumping unit through electric parameter measurement. This method includes hardware equipment and the corresponding software system, so as to improve the real-time performance and convenience of indicator diagram collection, to acquire analysis and diagnosis for the working condition of pumping units.First of all, the auhtor analyzed the instantaneous power and loss of mechanical parts of the pumping units. Analyzing the belt power loss, the wastage of the reducer and the loss generated by motor of four bar linkages in the working process of beam pumping units can support the following conclusions:for the pumping unit system which having periodic motion, its mechanical losses can be considered as a fixed value with little influence on the indicator diagram measurement, thus proves that the electrical parameter method can more accurately reflect the indicator diagram of beam pumping units.Second, mathematical models of suspension rod displacement of beam pumping units in the working process were established and the formula were derived. Meanwhile, the relationship between electric current and polished rod load, the suspension point load and displacement, and mathematical model and formula of them were established. Theoretically, work relations and condition of beam pumping units components in the process of movement were expounded, at the same time, the conlusion that pumping unit indicator diagram method is practical and feasible can be drawn through electric parameter measurement in this design.Finally, acquisition system of beam pumping unit indicator diagram by electrical parameter collection method. The hardware system and software simulation part. Hardware system was mainly used for gathering the electric parameters and displacement parameters of pumping units, and the software system will restore indicator diagram with the gathered data by MATLAB. Compared with the actual measurement of the indicator diagram, the coincidence rate reached more than90%, which better illustrates the research method in oil and gas production can more accurately reflect the indicator diagram of beam pumping units, so as to achieve the purpose of this study.
