The addition-hydrolysis reaction of imidazolium salt and benzimidazolium salt with Grignard reagent are reported in this paper. Based on these reactions, some new synthetic methods for the intermediate of 3-methylcyclopentadecanone(muscone)-2, 15-hexadecanedione, a - diketone, symmetric diketone and hydratropic aldehyde are provided.The addition-hydrolysis reaction of imidazolium salt with di-Grignard reagent is reported and a new synthetic method for symmetric diketone, especially for 2,15-hexadecanedione is provided.The addition-hydrolysis reaction of bis-benzimidazolium salt with Grignard reagent is presented and a new synthetic method for a - diketone is reported.A new tetrahydrofolate coenzyme model is established. The model uses benzimidazolium salt in transfer of carbon unit at the carbonyl oxidation level. A new synthetic method for hydratropic aldehyde via the new model is reported.In this paper, the mechanisms and influence of reaction conditions, structures on the yield are discussed.
