Using advanced technology of GFAAS , we report it?s application in environmental analysis. We have detected some contained element in environmental samples such as barium, organotin and palladium. The main result are expressed as follows. 1. Determination of barium. We chose magnesium as the matrix modifier and the graphite tube was coated with lanthanum, the sensitivity of the determination of barium was improved. The method has been used for the determination of trace barium in soil sample and environmental water sample. The detection limit for Ba is 2. 1 X 10 12 g and the relative standard deviation is 5. 4 %. 2. Determination of organic tin and total tin. The total tin can be detected by yttrium ?coated graphite tube with atomic absorption spectometry and La(N03 )2 was used as the matrix modifier . When extracted by n ?hexane, the organic tin can be detected by solvent extraction GFAAS. The detection limits are 2.3 X 1010g and 2.8 X 10?g for total tin and organic tin, respectively. The relative standard deviations are 3. 9 % and 4.8 % ,respectively. Water samples and sediments sample of Yellow River and standard soil sample are ananyzed by this method. 3. Determination of palladium in medicament . We chose EDTA as the matrix modifier and the graphite tube was coated with molybdenum, the sensitivity of the detection was enhanced and the matrix interference was eliminated efficiently The method has been used for the the determination of palladium in exported medicament Doxycycline Hydrochloride. The detection limit for Pd is 4. 6 X 1W ?g and the relative standard deviation is 4.3 % . The method is accurate and rapid. The recovery of palladium is in the range of 97. 1 to 103.3 %. 4. Determination of palladium in atmospheric particulates EDTA as the matris modifier and the graphite tube was coatedwith molybdenum, the sensitivity of the detection wasenhanced and the matrix interference was elindnated efficiently. The method has been used for the the detendnation ofpailadium in exPOrted medicament DoXycycline Hydrochloride.The detection lindt fOr Pd is 4' 6 X 10--lo g and the relativestandard deviation is 4. 3 %. The method is accurate and raPid.The recovery of palladium is in the range of 97. 1 to 103. 3 %.4. Detwtnation of palladium in atmosPheric particulatesmatter. When the atmospheric particulates matter(APM) wascollected, we chOse high -- pressure digestion method andHNO3 + HCL(1:3) fOr sampling. When extracted by biacetyldiotime -- trichlormethane, the trace palladium can be detectedby graphite furnace Atondc AbsorPtion Spectrometry. Thegraphite tube was coated with molybdenum. The detectionlimition for palladium is 6' 4 X 10--,o. The relative standarddeviation is 3. 8%. This method has been used fOr ananyzingAPM samples in Zhengzhou urban district with recoveries of99. 1 % -- l05. 4 %. The content of palladium is 1. 35 X 10--' -1. 41 X 10-'pg. m--3.
