With the computer technology highly developing and the expanding utilization of computer aided engineering (CAE) of injection molding, it is known that CAE of injection molding can help designers and engineers improve injection molding efficiently. Whether CAE can be used to the best advantage in the field of mold fabrication and polymer processing, it is essential for designers and engineers to understand the simplifying theory of injection simulation and interpret the analytic results correctly and intelligently. So, to do something with CAE applications and services is very important for engineering practice.This paper study the application of CAE and offers some strategy to engineering applications and problems. Firstly, according to commercial CAE software, compared the experimental result with analytic result to illuminate the practicability of CAE software. At the same time, the paper shows the gate's location effects on the mold design, part thickness and cooling channels layout effects on the produce design, and the influence of crystalline and semi-crystalline materials on quality of parts through numerical simulation of filling and packing, cooling. Also, the paper interpreted processing conditions function for final molded parts, such as the mold temperature, melt temperature, filling time, RSP profile, injection pressure,etc.. In addition, the paper presents some methods to handle several defects, which usually appear in polymer processing and mold manufacture. Finally, several practical examples are used to illustrate its engineering value.The research in the paper as follows:1. Through the systems analysis built up basic theoretical foundation to explain the result of simulation with reason.2. Made use of Dimension analysis theory, obtained easier mathematics model of numerical value solution, and acquainted that some physical variable how to effect molding process.3. C-MOLD was used in filling simulation, and indicated itsreliability and superiority by compared with experimental results.4. Obtained the important factor among configuration of the cooling channels, part thickness, open mold temperature and conductivity of mold By using CAE.5. Brought forward how to figure out familiar defects by using CAE,6. Practical examples are used to illustrate how to make use of CAE to optimize gate's location and processing conditions.The conclusions form the research job as follows:1.How to utilize CAE to solve actual problems, for engineer, it is effective way to understand the physical purport of CAE's results and the results come into being the influence on mold design and processing conditions, so and on.2.Experimental validation of the commercial CAE software was proved software has upper reliability. It can clearly and truly simulate melt line and air traps , short shot, hesitance and sink marks ,etc., defects.3.Injection molding process simulation a productivity tool for the processor. It can accessible provide the maximal clamp, the maximal injection pressure, the melt front, melt line and air traps , distributing of pressure and temperature, shear stress, etc.. it is scientific way for mould design.4.It has been profound significant in the injection molding process introduce CAE.
