The design and manufacturing of Fixture is a very important process in the cycle of manufacturing systems. It is instancy to improve the efficiency of Fixture design. So a Fixture design expert system based on KBE(Knowledge Based Engineering^ a great leap in the field of Fixture design. But, the problem of "the bottle necks of acquiring knowledge" has always limited the more abroad application. Therefore, solving the problem plays a practical role.This paper puts forward a method of artificial neural network knowledge acquisition to solve the problem of conventional Fixture design expert system. A son system of acquiring knowledge has been finished in this expert system .This paper also discusses and summarize the characters of Fixture design knowledge . The technology of artificial neural network acquiring knowledge , rule extraction and knowledge base refinement are also thorough studied in this paper . As an audacity explore and attempt ,this paper is based on experiment and has acquired some fruits to a certainty . It will start a new approach in the application of artificial neural network knowledge acquisition of Fixture design.
