Lantian County, Kaolin Purification And Development Of Applied Research

Lantian kaolin mineral deposits mainly belong to weathering residual deposits.and a few belong to sedimentary mineral deposits.These deposits,exposed to the earth surface, are easy to be exploited and have an enormously exploiting potentiality because of very tremendous reserves.On the basis of analysing trade and developing prospects of Chinese kaolin mineral.this paper carries on studying on basic characteristics of the Lantian kaolin mineral deposits.The results of the rude ore' X-ray and chemical analysis prove that these deposits have the advantages of granularity uniform and stable content of major oxidates.On the other hand, they have some disadvantages ,such as low weathering level,high content of iron-bearing material. In order to improve the quality of Lantian kaolin,the author tries to select some feasible iron-removed methods.After carrying on a series of quantitative and qualitative analysis experiments.such as acid-dissolved hydrogen reduction method,floatation method and chemical bleaching method, the results testify that most iron of iron-bearing minerals in Lantian kaolin mineral deposits can't be effectively removed.meanwhile this paper initially tries to probe the new development and usility. Lantian kaolin can be used as the raw material of water absorbent resin.The experimental result reflects the assume is feasible. Water absorbent resin made in lab has superior absorb-water performance and high absorb-water speed.Through the large number of experiments, the optimally experimental parameteres are put forward .These all supply a new exploiting and utilizing way for Lantian kaolin.
