With the commercial application of materials, the requiring of their properties ai becoming higher and higher. So it is important to use new technology to manufactu traditional materials. In the processing of materials, the Electromagnetic Casting(EMC) is i effective method. In this paper, the distributions of the magnetic field and the electromagnetic force a simulated with the coupled circuit model in EMC. The effects of parameters such as curre frequency and the angle of inductor on the magnetic flux density and the electromagne force were studied concretely. The simulated results indicate that for the vertical inductor max magnetic flux is at the center of the inductor, while for the decline one it is at the bottc of the inductor, and the magnetic flux density is mainly focused on the skin depth. It also fin that the magnetic flux density is increased with the increasing of current linearly when t relative position of inductor and ingot is fixed. Applying this result, a new and simple meth was proposed for calculating the height of liquid column. The simulated results agree w with the experimental ones. Furthermore the factors affecting on height of liquid column w studied in this paper. In the end, the distributions of the magnetic field of soft-contact mold are simulated in paper. The simulated results indicate that the magnetic flux density of mold with slits larger then mold without slits.
