N-phenyl-βB-naphthylamine(antioxidant D) and 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-P-cresol(anti-oxidant BHT) are the two kinds of antioxidant which are extensively used in our country. Their standard reference materials can be used to rectify instruments and measure our analytical methods.This paper is mainly concerned about how to purify the industrial products of the antioxidant D and BHT, how to determine their purities, determining their purities and the purities need to be more than 99%. In order to attain this objective, the recrystalizing method is used to purify antioxidant D and antioxidant BHT. The methods of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) is used to determine the chemical composition of the antioxidant D and BHT, it is qualitative analysis. At the same time an apparatus of zone melting is designed, the method of zone melting is used to purify the purified product of recrystalizing. After purification, the homogeneity and stability of the purified product of antioxidant D and BHT are examined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The methods of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) are used to determine their purities, it is quantitative analysis. Besides that, it also studies the effects of industrial and purified antioxidant D in natural rubber.The proper conditions of purification and determination are settled down through experiments and analysis. A number of additional analyses are also performed to characterize the material. They are homogeneous and stable for at least 1 year. In addition to this the performance of resistance to hot-oxygen ageing of NR is obviously improved with the antioxidant D purity increasing.
