Fluorescent compounds have outstanding advantages, such as high sensitivity and selectivety, short reaction time, real time and real space sensing, and they are generally used as probes on race detection. Considering its application in life science and environment science, my work can be summerized as following:1. In life science, it's important for the probe to be water-soluble. Using 4-Br-l, 8-naphthalic anhydride as a starting material, via replacement, amidation, quaterisation of the amine, gave 4-(N', N'-dimethyl-piperazin-l-yl) -N-alkyl-1,8- naphthalimide iodides, by forming quaternary ammonium salt in alkyl chain at 4-position of 1,8-naphthalic anhydride.2. In detection of trace materials ,for small molecular probes, it's necessary to form homogeneous solution. That will pollute the solution, at the same time, it's difficult to pick the probe out and to use it again. Polymer can offer robust and reusable optode systems for monitoring larger scale targets encountered in medical , chemical and environmental science. We synthesis some water-soluable fluorescent polymer.3. In addition to its role in CNS and involvement in neurodegenetative disorders, zinc is a critical cofactor for numerous cellular functions, and is critical for gene expression and apoptosis. With such a wide range of concentrations and functions, there is a need for probes for investing Zn2+ and we do some attempt in designing such probe.
