Dyestuff wastewater has much effect on environment. There are many kinds of biologically toxicant organism in dyestuff wastewater, which are difficultly harnessed by using of common methods. Using white rot fungus to decolorize and degrade dyestuff is viewed an economical and efficient method of eliminating these pollutants. The initial study on degradation of dyestuff wastewater by white rot fungus of laccase production was done in this paper. And the mechanism about degradation of dyestuff wastewater and part effective factors are analyzed and discussed in certain. Through decolorization experiment on five kinds of dyestuff by sixteen fungi, we found they could show some decolorization ability. Among these fungi, we screened two write rot fungi of laccase production and studied the conditions of laccase producing. The decoloring rate of five sorts of dyestuff was over 90 percent.
