Solanum Lyratum Thunb.(Solanaceae) ,a herb of Solatium, is used in Chinese medicine prescription widely. Modern pharmacology researches show that it is helpful to clear away heat and toxic material, its another function is anti-cancer. In China, Solanaceae has been used as a remedy for various cancers, such as cervical carcinoma, pulmonary carcinoma, laryngo carcinoma. Solanaceae has extensive clinical applications, too.The chemical constituents of Solanaceae were studied by systematic solvent extraction. The chemical constituents were extracted three times by chloroform, ethyl acetate and ethanol at room temperature in turn, every time takes 7 days. The extracts were isolated by macroporous resin, silica-gel and preparative TLC. As a result, 6 compounds were isolated and 4 compounds were identified. The structures were elucidated by IR,MS,1HNMR,13CNMR and were compared with standard spectral data or the know compounds reported in the literatures. Those structures are proposed as following: diosgenin, quercetin, naringenin and resveratrol. Among them, quercetin, naringenin and resveratrol were isolated from Solanaceae for the first time.In this dissertation, the volatile oil was extracted with steam distillation. The extraction yield was around 0.09%. The resulted oil was analyzed by GC-MS directly. 9 compounds were identified from 10 isolated constituents. Those compounds are showed as following: methyl salicylate,l-(6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)ethanone, 2,2,6 -trimethyl-1 -[(1E)-3-methylbuta-1,3-dienyl] -5-methylene-7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane, l,4-dimethyl-8-(1- methyle- -thylidene)- 2,3,4,5,7,8-hexahydroazulen-6(1H)-one, 2-Pentadecanone -6,10,14-trimethyl, 3,7,1 l,15-tetramethyl-l-hexadecen-3-ol isophytol, 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid, hexadecanoic acid. Among them, compounds of top 8 were isolated from Solanaceae for the first time.In addition, Artemisinin of Artemisia annua L. which grown in Henan was extracted by petroleum ether and isolated by the TLC and silica gel. The optimal extraction condition and isolate condition were found. The result shows that the methods were simple and accurate, the content of artemisinin in leaves of Artemisia annua L.is higher than other organs.
