The subject of the paper is the measuring system of the online compensating system of ball screw grinding. The online measuring method of ball screw is expounded in this paper and a measuring system is designed on the basis of above studying.There are four signals to be collected: signal of length by raster; signal of angle by rotary encoder, signal of temperature by infrared sensor, signal of lathe tail by tailsensor.To meet the real time requirement of the system, the compute method of regression line is simplified based on the measuring characteristic and time for computing travel variation is reduced by introducing 2 segmentation, in which the travel is segmented into segments in length of 2 .As one of characteristics of measuring online, the rising in temperature of ball screw has a great influence upon the precision of measuring. Therefore the problem is analysed in detail in a special chapter. And in the chapter the mathematic model of thermal deformation is established and difference method is used in computing the thermal deformation. In doing so, the theory of temperature correction is established generally.In addition, the compensation of dynamic measurement is studied in this paper too.
