In this paper, Cha 34 fault block was taken as the key point, the fine study of the geologic feature of the sand entry area has been done. Combined with the production data and the geologic research, by analyzing the geologic feature of the sand entry area completely, we got the conclusions that the cement of the sand stone of the reservoir was completely the argillaceous and the cementing degree was bad and also the particle size of the reservoir sand was small. Therefore, we decide to do the research on the application of the sand control with coated (PM-1) sand in this area.In this research, a laboratory mode was used. A radial flow simulator was designed to simulate the well's performance. By changing the viscosity and the velocity, we tested and simulated the critical fluid's velocity of sand inflow, fluid's viscosity, sand inflow volume and their relationships; by the dissection of sand packs, to observe and describe the sand inflow profile; Finally, to analyze the result of sand control with coated sand. In order to study the position of sand inflow in formation and its shortfall degree, by using different perforating methods, sand packed model was used to study the sand profile distribution character and distribution law under seven different perforating method (signal-thick-layer which is perforated wholly, signal-thick-layer which its top is perforated, signal-thick-layer which its bottom is perforated, dual-layer which is perforated wholly, dual-layer which is perforated choicely, dual-layer with inter-bed which is perforated wholly, triple-layer which is perforated wholly). The evaluation of the result of the sand control with coated sand has been done after that. Based on the front research, we done the work on the mechanism of the sand control with coated sand. It was mean that coated sand, which has suitable size, could be concreted as a steady and strong shield out of the casing. The parameters of fieldwork have made a desirable sand-control result through field experiment.The paper gave an integrated program on both parameter choosing and field operating design of sand control by coated sand. And designing software has been given in this paper. It will be significant to enhance the successful sand control by coated sand.
