Rock strata movements during tunnel excavation are varied in magnitude and trend depending on several factors related to the tunnel geometry, ground conditions and so on. There exist several empirical and semi-empirical formulas available for predicting rock strata movements. These conventional methods, however, do not simultaneously take into consideration of all the factors, which will result in inaccurate predictions.Based on the rock mechanics principle, then finishing inspection designing. These will predict the deformation rule and tendency among displacement, stress, acoustic emission (AE). Lastly, it will be predict occurring of the movements and damage in subsiding area. The integral inspecting and predicting system of stability based on the rock mass fracture and damage in mine-openings has been built and successfully applied to inspection, prediction and control of fracture and damage process in 255m main transport tunnel in linglong gold mine.
