The textile industry is developing at a very fast speed, which made loom developing towards high speed, wide breadth and high adaptability. The rapier loom is high in customers' favor for its flexible adaptability. In the exploitation of the rapier loom, the design of its control system is very important.According to the development of loom control system, we designed a multiprocessor system to control rapier loom. In our project, there are four processors working together. Two eight bit embedded processors work as main controller and two other thirty-two bit processors work as subsidiary controller. They collect and exchange data through several input and output ports. The controllers and I/O ports consist of the whole control system. In this paper, the main topic is the main control system. In the main control system, there are two eight bit Z84C015 processors and several I/O ports. One of the processors is work as a master controller; another is work as an assist controller. The master controller process the state message of woof-selecting , button-control , woof-detecting and jacquard-weaving control. The assist controller process the message of position of the main axes, the state of I/O boards, and control the chip of timing. The main processor exchange data with two MC68331 through dual port high speed state RAM and series I/O port.
