Now the further developing upon the general CAD system lags severely behind the increasing popularity of the application of the CAD system in our country. So the author demonstrates the secondary development upon the injection mold CAD system using Program tool of the Pro/E, Visual C++6.0 IDE and the development module-Pro/Toolkit, developing a injection mold base standard library,part library and the calculating integrated system of the dimension, which greatly increases the efficiency of designing the injection mold.The mold base library is established using Program tool of the Pro/E, all of the plates and parts are controlled by Program. When selecting one mold base, the plates and parts of the mold base are updated and regenerated according to corresponding data then our required mold base is assembled automatically.Part library is realized using Family Tab, the author firstly set up the general parts and Family Tables of the various parts, developing the operating interface using Visual C++ IDE and the development module—Pro/Toolkit, visiting Family Tables of the parts and updating the data of Family Tables through the operating interface, consequently regenerating a new part.The calculating system of the injection mold is developed using the development module — Pro/Toolkit of the Pro/Engineer, it also provides the methods using the Microsoft's MFC to develop the windows for the application program.Through the study of this subject, some results and conclusions are got as follows:1) The whole design of this mold base standard library and part library was completed. It lay a foundation for the popularity of mould standard parts and improved the utility of Pro/Engineer software.2) The calculating system of the injection mold was finished, releasing people from fussy calculating of the dimension, designing the mold conveniently,rapidly.3) The communication port between Pro/Engineer software and MFC was realized, this communication port broke the limitation of Pro/Toolkit. It solved the technical difficult problems that existed upon the further developing of Pro/Engineer and lay a foundation on programming development.4) The feasibility of the second developing was realized. We adopted Pro/Engineer software, which has the characteristics of full associativity and parametric, as our platform. This assured the advancement of the platform and reduced the workload. The user's application could be loaded dynamically and automatically and saved in the unite database by Pro/Toolkit. This lay a good foundation for the CAD/ CAE /CAM /CAPP integrated system.The successful development of the injection mold CAD integrated system is a good experiment in the further developing upon Pro/Engineer software. It is believed that this system has great referential value for the related system development in the future.
