Study On Synthesis And Properties Of New Type Of Tripod Structure Of Siderophores

Iron is an important metal element for the life. It plays a critical role in most biological processes. Many tripodal compounds have been synthesized according to the native microbal siderophores. So the tripodal compounds have great value in mimicking siderophores. For further investigation in this field, in this paper we synthesized a series of new tripodal compounds and their transition mental complexes. The coordinate ability and the fluorescent characters were also studied.1. An N-centered and naphthyl-containing tripodal compound was prepared by using the tris(aminoethyl)amine and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde as materials. The synthesis of the new tripodal compound is shown as follows.2. A C-centered and naphthyl-containing tripodal compound L₂ was prepared by using 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane, p-methylphenylsulfonyl chloride, 2-aminoethanethiol hydrochloride, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde.3. Two C-centered and phenyl-containing tripodal compounds were prepared by using 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)propane, p-methylphenylsulfonyl chloride, salicylaldehyde, o-methylaniline and o-aminophenylthiol as materials.Tris(hydroxymethyl)propane tris(p-toluenesulfonate)(III) was obtained by the reaction of p-methylphenylsulfonyl chloride with tris(hydroxymethyl)propane at -5-0℃. Trisaldehyde(IV) was prepared by reaction of III with salicyladehyde in the presence of anhydrous K₂CO₃ in DMF. The reaction of IV with amine gave the tripodal compoundsL₃,L₄.4.
