This paper presents research on tretment of odorous MSW gas generated in MSW collection system and puts forward a new process- Compound Biotrickling Filters by combining the existing practices in terms of bio gas treatment via bio methods and related theory, a pilot project using Compound Biotrickling Filters treating odorous MSW gas has been successfully conducted. Main Findings are summarized as following:1.Odorous MSW gas components measurement and check.2.Existing odorous gas treatment processes research.3.Theoritical research into odorous gas treatment using bio methods.4. Experiments using Compound Biotrickling Filters to treat odorous MSW gas Research on sludge inoculation, cultivation and biofilms formation using ECM germ Odorous MSW gas concentration change on odorous gas components removal efficiency Influent gas volume change influence on removal efficiency Spray volume parameters change and removal rate relationStudies have come to the following Conclusions:1. It has been proven feasible to use bio methods to remove odorous gas components contained in MSW, and the experiments can serve as basis for project design amplification.2. ECM inoculation via sludge for purposes of odorous gas components removal can effectively shortens the time required for sludge cultivation and bio films formation to improve the removal efficiency, but the originally designed removal efficiency has yet to attain.3. Experiments show that Compound Biotrickling Filters can reliably work and removal results can well meet demands stipulated in Chinese National Standards (GB14554-93) in the conditions of maximum gas velocity 9.6m3/s, maximum H2S concentration 35mg/m3, volumetric loading33.80g/(m3. packings .h).4. Experiments indicate that ideal results can be expected for lower concentration gas removal efficiency in rapid velocity by using Compound Biotrickling...
