As a developing country, the eco-environmental quality of rivers in our nation is not under the optimized status due to the vegetation destroy, man-made pollution, and so on. River is one of the important constitutes of eco-environment, it is necessary to consume some water for protecting the eco-environment of river, such as silt and sand transportation, pollution dilution and aquatic creature protection. Environmental and ecological water requirement of river is the quantity of water which is necessary for satisfying the object of eco-environment water consumption under the specific zone and geographical condition, the layout of environmental and ecological water consumption can offer the scientific basis for planning and protecting of water resources of river systems and building of eco-environment.In the present thesis, the calculation technique and method of eco-environmental water demands in the warm and humid area of South China is discussed, particularly, as a case in point we study the eco-environmental water requirement of Sha-Ping River, located in He-Shan City, Guangdong province, by considering the eco-environmental water demands in the process of layout and utilization of water resources.Sha-Ping River is a first-grade branch of the lower reaches of Xi River in Pearl River systems, which is located in the warm semitropical monsoon zone, and belongs to the He-Shan City, Jiang-Men, Guangdong. The physiognomy of upper reaches of Sha-Ping River is characterized as hilly country, steep runway and large drainage area, the runoff is characterized as accumulation on rain season, very large peak flux and rising and dropping suddenly and sharply at the period of flood, the lower reaches of Sha-Ping River is the bank of He-Shan city, which has low-lying topography, and often threatened by flood and water-logging. Due to the effects of environmental pollution caused by the industrialization and urbanization and the natural disasters, the eco-environment of Sha-Ping River is deteriorated gradually, the contamination is accumulated and water pollution severely exceeded...
