Precision ball screw unit is the key part of NC machine, and its manufacturing level determines the precision level of NC machine to great extent. With the development of mechanical production and NC machine oriented to high-speed, high-precision, multi-purpose and environmentalization, the performance of ball screw units is demanded higher.With the high-speed of ball screw units, it is impossible that we get a high linear speed of ball screw units purely relying on increasing rotate speed, we should design and analyze ball screw units by new ideas.At present, there is still a large gap between our country (exclude Taiwan region) and some developed countries in ball screw units. Besides poor quality raw materials and unadvanced equipments , the scarcity of test apparatus also hinders the development of high-speed ball screw units. For testing the performance of new type ball screw units, we design high-speed ball screw units test bench. It can test accuracy of positioning, acceleration, speed, temperature variation and noise of ball screw units by simulating their working status. By using high precision sensors, the veracity of the measure result can be ensured. By using USB interface and RS232 interface, the communication between PC and various apparatuses can be realized. By using the software programmed by ourselves, many functions, such as plotting the curve of the measure result in real-time, calculating, analyzing and saving the measure result, creating and printing the measure report according to some standards can be realized.Our final aim is to utilize the test bench to test the comprehensive performance of ball screw units and analyze the measure results, then improve the structure of ball screw units and speed up the research pace of high-speed ball screw units.At first, we make an in-depth study on the working principle and advantage and disadvantage of various structures of ball screw units. Simultaneously, we also make some meaningful discussion on some structures applicable to high-speed ball screw units. Secondly, we expound the design and all the testing functions of the test bench in detail. At last, we make large amount of analyse on the measure results.
