In recent years, as the servo technology develops rapidly, and motor technology has been more mature, the high speed driving has reached a very high level. For this reason, machine tool industry introduced a new concept-High Speed Feed, which requires tools or workstations and other components at higher speeds, acceleration and accurate motion in place. In general, high speed feed means the speed reached60m/min and acceleration reached lg.As an important part of transmission chains, the study on the High Speed Ball Screw(HSBS) has been more and more important.This paper develops a High Speed Ball Screw Performance Test Instrument (HSBSPTI). The test system can accurately measure accuracy, temperature, noise, temperature, axial elongation, efficiency and the friction torque during the operation of the ball screw, the measurement data obtained can be used as the basis for eligibility test ball screws, and can be used to compare different ball screws performance.Mechanical part of the test bed optimized design of key components made several designs. For comparison of the programs and choose the best performance for the final solution. Abaqus finite element analysis software for bed modal carried out to optimize the design of the bed ribs.In this paper, measurement and control system has been designed and set up. CNC system can reliably drive the high speed ball screw. Test system can accurately capture ball screws operating data, some data has to be calculated, then get a comprehensive performance parameters and friction torque of the measured screw. These parameters are entered into the database, available for queries and compared.Finally, HSBSPTI’s testing error is analyzed. The effect of the proposed test screw axis precision Abbe error on test accuracy, through theoretical analysis of specific formulas, and use this formula to measure the HSBSPTI’s testing error within the error range of provisions to ensure the test rig measurement data is valid and reliable.
