In the last few years, with the development of economy, the need for Low-cost and efficient combined punching machine is increasing. But at the same time, all kinds of design requirements are higher and higher. Hydraulic combination of punching and shearing machine(CPSM) is one of a typical combined machines. As most designer in domestic factory are uneducated and can not use the modern design method during design, so the performance of hydraulic CPSM made in our country is not as good as those made in foreign country, which in turn caused the products manufactured by our CPSM is worse than the one made by foreign CPSM.Considering the current domestic situation, in order to increase our pace to design this kind of combined machine, enhance the performance of CPSM and keep pace with foreign country, choosing the Q35Y-20 hydraulic CPSM, the author has done the following research:Firstly, the author used the FEM software ANSYS analyzing the static problem and the elastic-plastic problem. After the strength analysis, the author found out the main factor that affects the stress of the dangerous position and the hatch of its throttle.Secondly, based on the strength analysis and considered the concrete requirements of manufactory, the author optimized the structure of this type of machine. The comparison of the results of strength analysis and the estimated fatigue life of the current and the optimized machine structure indicated the strength of optimized machine was much better than the current machine.Thirdly, the author used experiment to get the stress data of the dangerous position of the machine, the consistency of the data from experiment and the data from computer analysis indicated the model for analysis is correct, and then also illustrated the optimized model structure is correct.Finally, considering the low-grade domestic knowledge situation for FEM of most designers, the author used the OOP software Delphi developing a software for Q35Y CPSM strength analysis. The software can help designers to do strength analysis of different Q35Y-20 hydraulic CPSM model.The strength analysis, the optimization of structure and the developed software for strength analysis will not only help to the design and alteration of Q35Y CPSM but also can be a demonstration for other resemble structure machine design.
