Usually, the thickness of the plate was increased to ensure structural rigidity, which willlead to heavy weight, large volume and some other problems. So it is necessary to conductmechanical analysis and optimize the structure for plate shearing machine to reduce weight.Structure modeling, static and dynamic mechanical properties and structural optimizationwere studied in this paper, which takes a hydraulic guillotine shear as the research object anduses the finite element method and experimental measurement as the research method.As the complexity of the geometry of the shearing machine, the parametric model wasestablished under certain simplifying principles.The finite element model of the shearing machine was established by simulated theaction mode of the real load, analyzed and calculated the load values, established realisticboundary conditions by selected the appropriate contact mode and selected the appropriateunit and material properties. Through analysis the boundary conditions and calculation theloads, considering the connection between components, select the appropriate contactconstraints. Finally, finish the finite element model.In order to understand the deformation and stress trend of the structure, stiffness andstrength analysis is necessary, and stiffness and strength check is essential, which candetermine if there is a space for structural optimization. Meanwhile, experimentalmeasurement for the structure is also needed. Finally, Compare with the finite elementanalysis results, and check if the established finite element model is accurate.On the basis of shearing stiffness, strength analysis, set weight of wallboard as the target,and using different methods to optimize the structure. Option one: set the wall thickness as thedesign variables; option two: make topology optimization for the wallboard. After structuraloptimization, stiffness and strength analysis is also needed. And get that the rigidity andstrength of the structure are meet the requirements. Finally, compared the two programs, andselect one as the final optimized design.In order to understand the dynamic characteristics of the structure, modal analysis wasconducted for the structure, the first ten natural frequencies and mode shapes of the structurewere extracted. Therefore, the structure vibration at different frequencies is observed.On the basis of the finite element analysis, the shears static and dynamic performanceparameters have been taken, stress and deformation distribution is also known, and throughthe structure optimization, optimization program has been determined. Through the structuraloptimization, not only ensured the structural rigidity and strength, while also reducing theoverall weight, has practical engineering significance.
