Because of the restriction of some components structure in loom, there is a certain distance for the quality and level of products from the loom in existence to catch up with the advanced level. When the high count cloth or high-density fabric are produced, because of the defects of temples, some disfigurements such as fracture of the warp in the border of cloth will occur in the process and this will influence the efficiency of the loom, further more will influence or restrict to advance the product quality. With the increasing demand for the high count or high-density fabric of the consumer, it's necessary to use a complete set of high capability device-selvage temple to make it possible for the high efficiency of loom and the advancing of the level and the quality of its products.This paper analyze the configuration, working theory, the function in weaving process, the quality defects, the parts that is easily to be destroyed of traditional temple completely, through analysis of the configuration, movement and force, and according to the temple configuration of the air-jet loom imported from Japan, and its working theory, design a sort of completely new temple-whole breadth temple. After protracting the accessory map and constituting the process technology, the temple has been processed, installed into component, and the components fixed into the sample loom, then experiments with different kinds and specifications of fabric has been made to figure out the correlative experiment data, at last analysis and comparison between the data gained from experiments and the data of using traditional temple has been made.The character of this new type of temple which is made according to this paper is as follow: the temple can work to the whole breadth of cloth, even though the breadth is a little large, it can work well, so this kind of temple can enhance the efficiency of woven machine and advance the product quality. Furthermore this temple, of which the structure is simple, life is long, which is easily to be install, which is fit for many kinds of fabric, can be used either in the reconstruction for the traditional shuttle machine or in the new shuttleless loom. Not only this temple can reducemore defects of fabrics than traditional one, but also it can meet the need the special demand of some users. As soon as this new type of temple grows up and produced in batches, it will enhance the product quality effectively, and users will benefit from it.There are some deficiencies in the temple, like structural parameter of it needed being optimized, and the cost is relatively high in the trial-manufacturing moment. Because of restriction of capital and the experimental condition, process or experiments to each specification parameter can't be made, all of these aspects need consummating in future.
