| In recent years, the cost of fresh water and wastewater treatment has become more and more expensive. Therefore, it is essential to do studies on water minimization in industry. This paper studied the water saving opportunities of a chlor-alkali complex in Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Corparation (SCACC) which was one of the biggest Chlor-Alkali companies in China.A method with analogy to pinch technology was proposed to enhance the load of the existing cooling system. Further more, simulation of cooling towers was carried out to ensure that the saving target can be achieved. Water using system was also considered. Several saving projects was established which can save 82t/h fresh water. |
