This item stems from the Country Natural Science Foundation( No.50379024) and the Focal Branch Aided by Shanghai EducationCommittee ( SEC 2002-44 ), and we have applied for the patent on thestructure of artificial medusa with the name "The zoomimic device atrecovery spilled oil", which applying code is 200520040224.1.This project provides the effective method for researching the device in recovering spilled oil. As the problem at recovering spilled oil is more and more regarded, the subject we studied has a significant theory value and actual sense undoubtedly.The paper was chiefly including 2 parts. In the first part, according to the principle of the zoomimic mechanic, we advanced the idea of the artificial medusa which is a mechanism equipment based on imitation of natural medusa, then according to the current recovery principles on recovering the spilled oil, researched out the principle of the artificial medusa, and designed the basic model of artificial medusa depending on the knowledge on mechanical design. Finally we listed the 3D effect drawing of artificial medusa created by PROE software; The second part in this dissertation was analyzed the stability feature and the whirlpool feature of artificial medusa.The innovation of this paper is that we introduced the principle of zoomimic mechanic into our design. According to the external form and internal structure of the natural medusa, we designed the model of artificial medusa used in recovering spill oil.
