Deposit model is the digitized mineralization model about the ore body's distribution, space configuration, structure and mine geological attribute(such as grade, lithology), it is established by technic of computer, fractal, geostatistics, computational geometry, computer graphics etc, it is the basic of more realizing calculation of reserves, mining computer - aided design, planning, management and simulation. The construction of deposit model is of far reaching importance for raising productivity, realizing the dynamic management of resource/reserves, visualization mining and digitization production. This paper aimed at the significance of deposit modeling to mining engineering, carried research on this subject.This paper introduced nonlinear science fractal to deposit modeling. Introduced the creation and research object of fractal. Discussed the basic theory of fractal, the definition and calculate of dimension. Through some actual phenomenon and literature analysis reached the conclusion that many deposits bear fractal structure, so can take fractal method to research on space distribution and all kinds of mineralization information. Studied the model of mineral enrichment, reached the conclusion that fractal and geostatistics can be used together to estimate ore's grade and reserves.Introduced the creation, research contents and superiority of geostatistics. Discussed the basic geostatistics concept of regionalized variable, variogram and its theoretics model, variogram curve, configuration analysis etc. Introduced ordinary kriging method in detail.According to the common process of deposit modelling presented its system mode. Studied the question of model orientation, cell block structure, sample combination, data search etc, and presented a few methods of sample combination and data search. Studied the method of landform modelling, presented the computational formula of trend surface method, distance power inverse ratio method and kriging method. Aimed at limitation of the traditional landform modeling method, introduced two kinds of practical algorithm of 3D landform modelling thatbased on fractional Brownian motion------midpoint displacement scheme and spacialpolyhedron model deformation algorithm. Discussed the method and process of lithology modeling, presented the method that using the lithology information and experience explaining together to establish lithology model.Studied three kinds of grade modelling methods that are polygon method, distance power inverse ratio method, kriging method, and presented their computational formula. For the kriging method that is used prevailingly at present, discussed the several aspects of it in detail that are calculation of experimentation variogram, fitting of theoretics variogram, cross validation of variogram parameter, kriging estimate value.On the basis of theory research, used DMS and Surpac Vision software to establish the deposit model of a certain mine. Established the geology database. There are 147 holes, 8799 samples, seven kinds of element of TFe, V2O5, S, P, FeO, FeCO3, Fe3O4 in the database. Mine can search, renew, invoke at any moment, it is in favor of dynamic management of mine production. Established the landform model by distance power inverse ratio method and fractal interpolation algorithm. Established the lithology model. Blocked out the ore body. And worked out the solid model of ore body. Processed variogram analysis on the element iron. Confirmed the variogram parameter. And carried cross validation on variogram parameter, that showed the estimate value of composite sample is unbiased, and the calculated variogram parameter can be used in grade modelling. Used kriging method to establish the grade model of element iron. According to the established model drew the statistical analysis chart, bed plan, vertical profile chart, row profile chart and the block model plot which can show different grade range. At last according to the established deposit model made the reserves statistic, and presented the report forms of reserves calculation. The result tallies with the data that were provided by geological exploration report basically.Establishment of the deposit model felt out distribution regularities of the grade and reserves in mining area, provided reliable geology information for design and production, it has important social economy value to ensure that mine proportion to grow, optimize recovery scheme, make rational use of resources.
