An ultra-heavy current electroplating power system which consists of several switch-mode power modules is introduced in the article. This kind of system utilizes a new current-sharing scheme which amazingly bases on magnetic amplifier and average current-sharing method. The whole design of the modulized electroplating power system is discussed. The power section of the system is made up of a few power modules, and the control section is a simple and common PWM controller with compensation network. And this kind of structure is very smart and cheap. With the output current of SMPS increasing, paralleled power modules are taking the place of single large output current rating power supplies, and smart and efficient distributed power system is thriving. Then the current balance becomes the key issue in the design of a paralleled power system. A comparison is made among the most popular current-sharing schemes in this article, and after the comparison a new kind of average current-sharing scheme is proposed. The experiment result is shown to prove that it has a high precision.Saturable inductor is frequently used as a post-regulator and spike restrain in SMPS. It often works as a power component when acting as a post-regulator and we need to consider its power loss and power rating. But this article shows you it rarely has power loss when it works in the proposed PWM signal post-regulator. Such kind of regular can not only be used in the current-sharing control system, but also in some voltage-balancing and neutral point balance situations.
