Oxyclozanide was synthesized from 3,5,6-Trichlosalicylic acid and 2-amino-4,6-dich-lorophenol by chloration and amidation. The reaction mechanisms were discussed and the products were confirmed by IR and NMR. Through the single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment, the effects such as the reaction time and the temperature were discussed and the good process conditions were confirmed. The results show that the purity of the product is 98.9%, and the overall yield of the product is 81.6%.EspeciaIly the alkalinous promoter was added in the second step and the convert ratio of the raw materials was elevated by 9 percent.An HPLC method for the quantitative determination of oxyclozanide in the product was developed. The linear relationship was accepted at a range of 0.125mg/mL~2.0 mg/mL. The relative standard deviation was less than 0.7282% and the average recovery rate for spiked samples was 99.94%.
