A new process of making spherical propellant with micro pores (SPMP) was put forward, which was based on the traditional ball propellant process, the theory of micro-capsule and the way of making porous polymers. It was proved that the new process was feasible though theory analyses and experiment. The influences of the process condition to the properties of SPMP as bulk density and average diameter were investigated by the numbers. The combustion characteristics of different SPMP were tested under the atmosphere pressure and in the closed bomb. The results showed that the SPMP could be made though the new micro-capsule process and the bulk density and the average diameter of the SPMP could be adjusted in a large range in the term of this paper. The conditions of process played significant roles on the SPMP properties. The bulk density and the average diameter of the SPMP had remarkably influences on the mass combustion rate under common pressure and the dynamic activity in closed bomb. The lower the bulk density and the smaller the average diameter were, the larger mass combustion rate under common pres'sure and the dynamic activity in closed bomb SPMP had. Two peak values were obtained in the dynamic activity curves of lower bulk density SPMP. The SPMP whose bulk density was lower than 0. 55g·cm-3 had remarkably higher dynamic activity than gun powder with pores made through traditional process.
