Ceramics Injection Molding (CM) is a new manufacture process which combines powder metallurgy with plastic injection. Compared with traditional metallic processing methods, CIM is increasing becoming a research focus due to forming medium and small-size parts with complete details in powder metallurgy, inorganic non-metal field and other correlative fields.At present, CIM is widely comprehensive application in aerospace equipment, automotive supplies, electronic materials, medical appliance and so on. CIM is now in new phase with standardized mass production which CAD is the most important. First the standard mold base and parts are main blocks in standardized works which include standardization of mold base, parts, structure and processing parameter etc. Second many domestic enterprises and companies have used a lot of CAD systems, for example Unigraphics and Pro/Engineer, which are popular nowadays and can satisfy variety and diversity requires of user. Using standard mold base and parts can improve the design efficiency, shorten the design cycle, enhance the quality of mold and the level of standardization and let the engineers out from the toilsome work of time consuming and focus their time and energy in technical innovation and creativity.The injection process of CIM is similar with plastic injection process because the equipment and mold design of CIM are based on traditional plastic injection. The medium of CIM process which is different from plastic frets mold heavily and the mold requires high strength and performance of die, so the design of mold base and parts between CIM process and plastic injection process is not completely alike.According to plastic injection molding and ceramics injection molding, this paper sets up a standard mold base and parts system of CIM which can realize automatic searches and molding based on UG Open series products. 1) Construction of CIM library of standard parts The process includes the design of user interface with UG Open MenuScript and UG Open Uistyler, the establishment of parametric models library by UG/Part Families and the development of dynamic link library with UG Open API and VC++.
