With the development of the automobile industry and electron industry , mould industry has become one of the important basic industry in the national economy. In our country, the design and manufacture of the plastic mould chiefly are depending on the experience of the designer and technique of the technologist. Only passing mould test can know the rationality of the design and the quality of the products .Applying computer design of the result, it makes longer circle and higher cost. But aided engineer (CAE) can improve the level of the plastic mould and the quality of the products. The CAE technology can settle these problem to get high quality mold one time, decreasing the cost and increasing the part productivity and quality.In this paper, optimization design of cooling system for plastic injection mold is deeply developed on the basis of thermo-conductivity theory by means of the simulation software MOLDFLOW. The main contents are listed as followed:First, the article reviews the history and application of CAE technology and construct the mathematic model for cooling analysis conditioning assumption. It discusses the principle of cooling channel design and effective factor for cooling.Secondly, it makes a research of finite element model for cooling analysis that takes great influence on the simulation results. So it is the important question to build and mesh finite element model in analysis which is associated with the accuracy of result.Finally, it makes a deeply research of optimization cooling system using the MOLDFLOW by the part. The design method is brought out based on the part character. It avoids the heat point during cooling and decreases residual stress and warpage by the channel optimization and temperature field. Simulation analysis results also provide the evidences which guide us to achieve the rational configuration of cooling system and process parameters that can reduce the cycle time and increase cooling efficiency, part quality and conductivity.
